Vendor Product Accessibility Statement and Documentation

Travelennium Inc. is committed to ensuring equal access to all users of any of our reservation services. There are two components of Informational Material and Technology that we utilize on behalf of the University of Memphis: Sabre and GetThere. Both companies Accessibility Statements are attached here.

The U.S. government is the largest user of Sabre and GetThere services, processing more than 80% of all federal travel reservations. All federal agencies require strict compliance with Section 508 criteria and this is the same technology that Travelennium partners with for our customers.

 Sabre Accessibility Policy

Sabre is committed to providing a great experience to customers of all abilities who use our web-based products. The accessibility initiative supports the productivity and efficiency of our users.

Sabre’s commitment to accessibility is measured by conformance to the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 at AA level (WCAG 2.0 AA). Sabre production specifications require that existing and all new screens of consumer-facing Web sites meet WCAG 2.0 AA. Sabre’s intention is that conformance to this modern, global standard also places the company in compliance to the requirements of Section 508, the U.S. Rehabilitation Act.

Using design and development techniques defined by the W3C, Sabre seeks to provide equal access to online products and services to our users with disabilities. This means facilitating the ability of people with disabilities to perform the following tasks using common tools, browsers, and assistive technologies:

  • Navigate conveniently
  • Identify screens, sections and sub-sections
  • Describe images and their purpose
  • Identify relationships in tabular data
  • Identify, read, operate, and navigate through form fields
  • Provide clear and actionable error messages
  • Utilize keyboard to navigate and to complete tasks
  • Identify scripted functions and dynamic content and aid users to understand and use them successfully.

Sabre strives to include people of all abilities as customers and employees. The company continuously works on enhancing and improving our web products. If you have accessibility questions or concerns, reach a Sabre representative at email
accessibiliy@sabre.com.

GetThere Accessibility

GetThere is compliant with Section 508 criteria, as proven in their last audit by Knowbility, an Austin-based non-profit organization committed to promoting the use and improving the availability of accessible information technology. Knowbility is a 3rd party vendor and considered an expert in the field. Revised Section 508 criteria was released in January 2017 and the government is allowing organizations one full year to reach compliance with the new standards and the GetThere product team is committed to reaching that goal.

GetThere has done side-by-side testing with both the U.S. Social Security Administration and the U.S. Department of Education using their Assistive Technology to identify and remediate any gaps introduced since gaining initial compliance with the 508 standards. GetThere fully integrates 508 compliance testing and reporting on all feature work and includes accessibility requirements at the beginning of all feature project work.

GetThere UI developers attend training with Knowbility. The UI Development team continually strives to learn and increase its knowledge of WAI-ARIA attributes, which assist GetThere users who use screen readers (WAI-ARIA attributes are coded in the tool). GetThere develops and tests for accessibility/508 compliance for each new feature.

The GetThere QA team uses, and will continue to use the following assistive software tools: JAWS 12 and Dragon v11.5 (voice recognition software) for development and testing purposes.
